There comes a time in motorsports when a legendary team is present in the paddock for enough consecutive seasons that they become woven into the face of the sport and their presence becomes expected. JGRMX is a textbook example of this with the AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross series, and unfortunately their 13th season of SX and MX racing was their last.

The adage that you don’t appreciate what you have until it’s gone rings true in this case, and we join our fellow industry and fans in already feeling that there is a now a hole in the sport.

JGRMX was born from a rich history in racing on the NASCAR side with Joe and Coy Gibbs behind the operation and brought an equivalent level of professionalism to their entire dirt bike racing operation. Racing as both the Yamaha and Suzuki factory efforts at different times in their tenure, the JGR team has housed talent such as Justin Barcia, Chad Reed, Justin Brayton, Josh Grant, Weston Peick, James Stewart, Alex Martin, Jimmy Decotis, Justin Hill, and more.

JE Pistons proudly began working with JGRMX coming into the 2009 season and helped power Josh Grant and his Yamaha to JGRMX’s first Supercross win at Anaheim One.

JE has worked closely with JGRMX’s Head of Engine Development, Dean Baker, ever since, going through countless hours of engineering, designing, testing, and developing the best possible racing pistons to help them compete at the factory level.

Our entire crew at JE cannot thank the JGRMX team enough for the incredible partnership and the innovations and developments they have played a pivotal role in for over a decade of racing. The people of JGRMX are as great as they come and are dedicated to this sport we love so much, all contributing to leaving a huge legacy. Saying we’ll miss having the JGR rig in the Supercross and Motocross pits is an understatement, but I think we can speak for the whole industry when we simply say, “T H A N K  Y O U.”
