| JE Pistons, Inc., is deeply saddened to report the passing of our dear friend and respected sales employee, Greg Sipple. Greg passed away this past Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 6:45 pm EST. Greg lost his battle with his declining health and passed away quickly and peacefully.
Greg Sipple was born on October 22, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio. Greg is survived by his wife Rita, his mother Margaret, his sister Stephanie, and brother Chris. Greg was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, serving two tours of duty with the US Army from 1964-1965 as a helicopter gunner. He survived being shot down and received the Purple Heart medal and the Bronze Star for his valiant efforts. Greg enjoyed a few genuine hobbies, one of which was his impressive gun collection; the other was his passion for motorsports. Greg was a true motor head enthusiast. He raced motorcycles, stock cars, and later became a highly regarded engine builder. It was JE Pistons' great fortune that Greg joined the JE team on December 23, 1996. He was instrumental in helping establish JE Pistons' presence within the NASCAR community, growing our market share to a majority position amongst all other competitors.
In May of 1998, Greg left JE to join Pfaff Racing Engines. He later moved to North Carolina and joined Gasoline Alley. On December 29, 2000, Greg married JE employee, Rita and took her with him to North Carolina. We believe that it was this union that helped bring Greg back to JE when he re-joined the JE team on March 13, 2005 to once again service our high-end customers.
Greg will be remembered as a talented and knowledgeable engine builder, the type of person that always went above and beyond, and a person that would always take the time to recognize excellence in others. Most importantly, Greg will be remembered as an integral part of the JE Team and will be truly missed. God Bless Greg Sipple.
Memorial Services will be held on September 9, 2008 at 7:00pm EST located at the First Baptist Church, 119 North Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC. 28078.
