EXPERIENCED QUALITY ENGINEER
Position Description:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for data evaluation, project management in order to identify and implement preventative and corrective actions, as well as scrap reduction initiatives within quality assurance.
- Analysis of customer complaints and leading the appropriate corrective and preventative action
- Develop and maintain processes for quality data storage, retrieval, and analysis utilizing SQC/SPC methodologies as appropriate
- Maintain and implement preventative and corrective action programs
- Assist in developing and maintaining a vendor quality management process including vendor qualification and audits
- Support customers and vendor initiatives when applicable
- Plan, promote and conduct training relating to product quality, systems, and procedures
- Assist in developing and accomplishing annual quality goals and objectives
- Assist in maintenance of Quality Management System
- Develop and maintain manufacturing audit process to assure compliance to specification and procedures
- Operation of inspection equipment such as a CMM, Mahr, and Taylor Hobson to perform process studies and high-end product inspection
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in a machine shop environment preferred
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Must have a working knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, SQC, SPC and other techniques
- Familiar with basic quality concepts such as Six Sigma, DOE, FMEA and CPR
- Possess capability to work on and complete multiple continuous improvement projects
- Must be proficient with personal computers
- Self-motivated, able to work well with limited direction and under pressure
- Must have strong team orientation and be able to work well with other departments, customers and vendors
- Must be organized, systematic, and demonstrate abilities to develop systems and processes
- Capable of working with general direction from Technical Manager
- Must possess a Bachelors degree in Engineering
- Must have a minimum of 2 years related experience
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and engineering prints including GD&T
- Ability to generate practical solutions to complex problems
